Why Maine Coons are the best pets?

Mufasa

Maine Coons make good pets for many reasons. Let’s highlight the main points:

🐾 Maine Coons are good with kids

When getting a Maine Coon kitten you can expect nothing but a bundle of joy and energy. Just like kids – they are curious,  love toys and are equally, but adorably clumsy.  Maine Coon kittens are gentle and often become the best friends with anyone. How to keep your kiddo busy? Get a Maine Coon kitten – be sure, their batteries will run out of power twice as fast. Also, did you know that Maine Coons are totally obsessed with babies? They make the best babysitters!

🐾 Maine Coons are good with dogs

You’ve probably heard many times  that Maine Coons cats have doglike personalities. This is true – from the first few days after welcoming a Maine Coon kitten into your family, you’ll notice how loyal, attached and a little possessive they are when it comes to attention. Are you looking for a cat who will become your shadow? Fetch? Make a whole a lot of mess playing with water? Get a Maine Coon kitten to unlock more perks. Believe me, they  never disappoint when it comes to surprises.

🐾 It’s cool to have a big Maine Coon cat

Did you know that Maine Coons can reach over 20 lbs? 😳 Some sources speculate about the size, suggesting enormous numbers. It’s important to maintain a healthy weight for Maine Coon. Check out our Maine Coon Diet post about cat nutrition and what diet is the best for Maine Coon cats . We often get inquiries like “I want a 30+ lbs cat!” Well, Maine Coons ARE NOT cheetahs. Maine Coons are bigger than normal cats. Let’s say big enough for your own mini lion? Look at our graduate Francois 👇

🐾 Maine Coons are smart

Anyone who’ve ever met a Maine Coon cat can’t deny how intelligent they are. From my own experience, I think they have analytical mind – you often can see them carefully watching you, analyzing every step you make 👀. Well, next thing you know, your Maine Coon knows how to open the doors! And it doesn’t stop there. For example, one of our graduate’s family told:

“Unfortunately I accidentally taught Willow, “so fluffy!” where I bury my face in her neck and say so fluffy! She, being ridiculously smart, copies it and aggressively shoves her face into my neck and rapidly licks/bites! It’s terrible!” – indeed, terribly smart Willow! 😅

🐾 Maine Coon Cats are affectionate

You’ve probably heard before “ Maine Coons are gentle giants“. They are very friendly, social and gentle cats. Maine Coon kittens often like to be treated just like babies – be carried everywhere, tons of attention and many many kisses. They also give kisses back, so that’s a bonus!❤ It would be a crime not to mention how chatty they are.

Maine Coon kittens quickly learn their name and often talk back. Guaranteed, if you’ve never heard a Maine Coon cat before, you’ll be amazed by the wide range of sounds they are able to make – from chirping to some pretty long and loud  meows!

Bringing a Maine Coon into your life means gaining a loyal companion, a curious little shadow, and a gentle giant all in one. They truly have a way of wrapping their fluffy paws around your heart and never letting go. Whether they’re chirping at birds, flopping onto your keyboard, or curling up beside you after a long day – Maine Coons make every moment a little more magical. Once you share your home with one, it’s hard to imagine life without them.
